The hotel setting and surroundings are perfect for a romantic weekend. The quality of the food is very good and a varied menu.
Facilites are very jumbled, hotel is a bit like a rabbit warren, guests found it very difficult to locate their bedrooms. Decor is tired but looks like modernisation may have begun.Hotel seems to cater more for weddings guests than visitors.

Fabulous room, a hairdryer, terry dressing gowns and fresh towels in the room. Lots of fab food, we loved it. It was close enough to a taxi, the restaurants and a country park, unbeatable and peaceful location overall.

The surroundings are beautiful! The building has a very interesting hostory - more should be made of this.
It was -14 outside in the morning and there was no heating in my room! It was completely freezing. I got a good deal with bookings.com - otherwise this is probably an overpriced hotel.

Beautifully Landscaped Gardens, Scenic Golf Course, High-Quality Room Amenities
The inconsistent service quality really needs addressing!!! Room cleanliness left much to be desired, with cobwebs and old fixtures. Parking accessibility was quite inconvenient, forcing a trek from the car to the entrance!!!

The manager was extremely helpful sorting small problems out immediately. Could not fault this at all.
Faded grandure. Very shabby. Food not good. You could sole your shoes with the fried eggs for breakfast. Waiters were prompt and courteous but did not smile. Chairs in the cocktail lounge were dirty with the bottoms torn. Not De Vere standards. I did not play golf but I bet the Club House was not like this!

I had a wonderful experience! The treatments at the spa were incredible, particularly the back massage and scrub. The dinner was top-notch, especially the duck, which was beautifully cooked. The hotel grounds were stunning, perfect for a treat.

It was very romantic with a beautiful setting. It truly blended in with the surrounding area. The small pond and garden area were beautiful!
The walls were very thin so we could hear people all night long - whether bickering or watching TV or having serious discussions, etc. We also think the room could have been a bit cleaner.
